Following the most recent investigations into relations with the non-visible and more-than-human connections, this project aims to call deities of transformation and longing on old knowledges. The shrine is a place for communication, aiming to give viewers the power to understand and visualize the qualities of other beings.
I took over a fallen tree house in the forest compound and developed a site-specific intervention, a homage to the deities that rule mystical forest beings. I also transformed the incredible structure into a resonant one, allowing observers to hear a litany of shapeshifting spells as they walked through the forest. The recording was made by inviting 14 people from the surrounding village to whisper the poems/spells, creating a choir of transformational wishes.
